This well-researched biography of Crawford Munro deals with the issues of adjusting the demand for water to the supply and of providing water security in the interests of sustainable water use and equitable decision-making.

These issues were well developed by Munro, foundation professor of civil engineering at the University of NSW.

He became a father of hydrology in Australia through his work in the 1950s and 1960s on water education, research and resource planning.
