Energy costs are significant for many industrial businesses and can be a noticeable source of rising costs. At the same time they are often more controllable than other business costs. This practice note aims to explain how engineers can achieve improvements in the energy efficiency of their assets at all stages, from design and project management to operation and maintenance. While not intended to provide detailed technical guidance on energy efficiency assessment, the document refers to a range of information sources and standards.
